France: Jeweler robbery in Paris. Losses estimated at over EUR 2 million

As AFP writes, the attacker drove a scooter to the store, then went inside and threatened employees with firearms. He stole jewelry and precious stones, and after the robbery he escaped on his two-wheeler. The total value of the stolen goods is estimated at EUR 2-3 million.

Chaumet is one of the oldest French jewelry brands, belonging to the luxury concern LVMH.

In 2009, the Chaumet gallery in Place Vendome in Paris was robbed of precious stones worth 1.9 million euros.
