France is concerned about the growing intensity of hostilities in the Donbas and, in particular, the use of the Bayraktar strike drone by Ukraine. This was stated by a representative of the French Foreign Ministry at a briefing, according to the press service of the department.

“We are concerned about the growing intensity of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, including the increased use of heavy weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements, and the announcement by the Ukrainian army headquarters of the use of an armed Bayraktar-type drone. These events contradict the measures to strengthen the ceasefire that came into force 27 July 2020 “, – said the representative of the French Foreign Ministry.
He recalled that France, together with Germany, continues its efforts within the framework of the Normandy format in order to fully implement the Minsk agreements, “which represent the only approved basis for a lasting settlement of the conflict in Donbass.”
“We urge the parties to restrain themselves and reduce the escalation of the conflict,” the French official added.
