Illegal Immigrants Arrested in Phoenix Not Associated with Attack on NYPD Officers

Federal Agents Apprehend Four Suspects

Federal agents in Phoenix apprehended four illegal immigrants on Monday in connection to a separate incident, which was initially believed to be associated with the attack on two NYPD officers in Times Square. However, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office confirmed that these four individuals are not linked to the assault on the police officers.

According to a senior official from Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the four suspects, who are believed to have fled the state after being released, are currently still at large. Authorities are actively tracking them to ensure their apprehension.

Coordinated Efforts from Multiple Agencies

The search for the four individuals is being conducted by various federal law enforcement entities, as confirmed by the CBP official.

Indictments and Arrests in the NYPD Assault Case

Warrants have been issued by the CBP for three of the suspects who were previously arrested in connection to the assault on the two NYPD officers. The individuals identified as Darwin Andres Gomez, Wilson Juarez, and Kelvin Servita Arocha are currently the subjects of the warrants. Another suspect, Yorman Reveron, was part of the initial group of four apprehended individuals but was released.

In addition, two other individuals, Yohenry Brito and Jandry Barros, were arrested in connection to the assault on the officers. Yohenry Brito has been indicted by a grand jury in relation to the attack. The releases of the suspects without bail have sparked concern, prompting New York Governor Kathy Hochul to address the issue.

Governor Hochul Expresses Concern

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, during a press conference, expressed her desire to speak with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg regarding the release of most of the suspects without bail. Governor Hochul believes that assault on a police officer is an offense that should be considered eligible for bail. She also emphasized the importance of exploring options for deportation in cases where there are over 100 related crimes.
