Marcel Thimm, Chairman of the Board of the Sparkasse Freiburg-Nördlicher Breisgau and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sparkasse Foundations, recently handed over a check for EUR 7307 to those responsible for the Malteser Children’s and Youth Hospice Service. The funding comes from the foundation fund “Unbescheiden-Jockers-Stiftung”. The purpose of the foundation fund, which Susanne Jockers set up under the umbrella of the “Foundation for Citizenship”, is, among other things, to promote child and youth hospice work in the region, according to the announcement. The Malteser outpatient hospice service for children and young people in Freiburg is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. He trains volunteer hospice workers who accompany families with children who suffer from a life-shortening illness. The volunteers support the affected families from the time of diagnosis throughout the life, death and grief phase. The offer is free of charge for families.
