FORVIA, the world’s 7th largest automotive technology provider, has entered into an agreement with a German premium automaker to integrate VIBE®, an immersive technology that transforms driving, into the latest generation of a premium SUV. Born from five years of research and development in partnership with Aurasens, a pioneer in the field of vibro-haptic composition, FORVIA’s VIBE® technology provides a safe and immersive driving experience by incorporating gentle vibrations into the vehicle’s seats , thereby improving the driving experience.
This innovation is intended to provide drivers with a safer, more entertaining and well-being-focused experience, while reducing cognitive load and providing significant biomechanical benefits. More specifically, VIBE® offers the following three enhancements:
Security: Stay protected on the road with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) including haptic alerts for blind spots, lane changes, speed limits and drowsiness.
Music and entertainment: Enjoy total immersion thanks to electronic algorithms accompanied by 4D sound, automatically creating vibrations synchronized with the sound broadcast by the vehicle’s audio system, whether music, films or games.
Well-being: Immerse yourself in a complete immersive experience that offers relaxation, recovery and energy stimulation programs. Thanks to a constantly evolving catalog and Aurasens’ collaboration with leading haptic artists, VIBE® offers an increased feeling of well-being. How it works ?
VIBE® technology is invisibly integrated into the seat architecture and trim. Using custom-made electroacoustic transducers, VIBE® technology emits gentle, low-frequency vibrations through the seat foam, providing an immersive experience for the driver and front passenger. The design adapts to the different constraints of car manufacturers and can be personalized with additional functions such as lighting, sound, heating, massages or fragrance diffusion.
