Former World Bowling Hunter, Marion Jones’ former husband, has died

Former world bowling champion CJ Hunter, the former husband of sprinter Marion Jones, has died. The cause of Monday’s death of the 52-year-old champion from Seville in 1999, who, like his wife, became involved in the BALCO laboratory scandal, was not published. The coaching association informed him about it.

Later sprinter star Jones Hunter met at the university where she played basketball and he was the coach of the throwers. He had to leave college because of their relationship. He married Jones in 1998, but the marriage lasted only four years.

Meanwhile, Hunter’s career ended with a doping scandal when he tested positive for nandrolone before the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. A few years later, he began working with investigators who were involved in the doping affair around the BALCO laboratory. In 2003, it became the center of a doping scandal surrounding the development and use of the anabolic steroid tetrahydrogestrinone (THG).

Hunter also testified against his ex-wife Jones, whom he accused of doping before the Sydney Olympics and right next to them. There, Jones won three gold and two bronze medals. Successful sprinter and long-distance rider Jones has long denied the use of banned substances, but in 2007 she admitted that she had doped in 2000 and 2001. The medal from Sydney had to return as well as the silver and bronze from the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton.
