The former coach of the Malaysian national team, Bhaskran Satiananthan, said: Kiatisuk Senamuang not suitable for training the Malayan Tiger.
The legend of the Thai national team, Kiatisuk Senamuang, is reportedly on the radar of prospective coaches for the Malaysian national team after Tan Cheng Hoe resigned after the 2020 AFF Cup (AFF Cup 2021).
However, the former coach of the Malaysian national team, Satiananthan, said that Kiatisuk’s playing style did not match the character of the Malayan Tigers.
“He is a good coach but are there any of our players who play like Thai players or not?,” said the former coach of the 2007-2009 Malaysia national team. Utusan.com.
Kiatisuk is one of the figures who was said to be the coach of the Malaysian national team after Tan Cheng Hoe resigned.
The former Thailand national team striker currently occupies the coaching chair at one of the Vietnamese clubs, Hoang Anh Gia Lai which he also played for when he was still playing.
Kiatisuk is also said to want to focus on his duties as Hoang Anh Gia Lai’s coach.
Apart from Kiatisuk Senamuang, the Malaysian media also included the Croatian coach who had handled PSM Makassar, Bojan Hodak, in the market for the new coach of Harimau Malaya.
Hodak is no stranger to Malaysian football because he has managed clubs there since 2012. He had handled Malaysia U-19 in 2017-2019 before joining PSM in 2020.
Last season, Hodak successfully led KL City to win the Malaysia Cup.
“It all comes back to FAM. Do you want to find a long-term coach who is given two to three years or a short term.”
“If this [jangka pendek] so we need a temporary coach who already understands Malaysian football. Considering we only have six months before the Asian Cup Qualifiers,” said Satiananthan.
