Former Banik Ostrava Defender Josef Hoffmann Sentenced to Five Years for Child Pornography

In 2004, he celebrated a sensational title in Baník Ostrava alongside Marko Heinz, Radoslav Látal and Radek Slončík. Now the former defender Josef Hoffmann faces a five-year stay behind bars for child pornography. Recently, the 45-year-old cooperated with the police and the prosecutor’s office, which allowed him to enter into a plea agreement.

The regional court in Ostrava sent former defender Josef Hoffmann to prison for five years.

According to the Blesk newspaper, he had to send photos and videos of himself on social networks to eight girls, most of whom were minors and one was only nine years old.

He then demanded intimate photos from the girls he approached, otherwise he was supposed to blackmail them.

According to his own statement, he committed incomprehensible behavior under the influence of alcohol.

“I am aware of the mistake I made. I hurt a lot of people, it will be with me for a long time. I want to make it right,” he said in court.

Hoffmann started with football in Hranice, in his youth he played for Sigma Olomouc.

The highlight of his career was his involvement with Baník Ostrava, with whom he celebrated the title of league champion in 2003/04. He scored twelve starts in the championship season.

From Ostrava, he guested successively in Mladá Boleslav, Viktoria Žižkov and Kladno. In the summer of 2007, he transferred to Kladno, after half a year he was transferred to the reserve. In July 2008, he left for Karviná.
