By 86 votes to 50, the parliament said that Morrison had thus undermined the trust that the population had in Australian democracy and made it impossible to control and overview.
It is the first time in Australia’s history that a former prime minister has been formally reprimanded by parliament.
Current Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says Morrison owes the country an apology.

He secretly appointed himself to six cabinet posts
Over the course of two years during the corona pandemic, Morrison took over the posts of finance, interior, economy, resources, agriculture and environment minister, all without informing parliament, the people or others ministers.
Morrison was present during the debate. He defended himself firmly against the debtors and said he was proud of his actions in a crisis situation for the country.
The only thing she could regret was keeping her appointments a secret for too long.
He specified that he had appointed himself as a security measure, in case the Minister of Health or Finance should be unable to carry out his duties due to the pandemic.
Morrison accused the new Labor government of politicizing the issue and acting out of a desire for revenge.
Many of his party colleagues in the Liberal Conservative Party gave him full support, but some thought the actions were an attack on democracy and voted to punish him.
