Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar and other senior BJP leaders were present when the leaders officially joined the party.
Welcoming the leaders comprising 15 former MLAs and former MPs, Annamalai said they will bring a lot of experience to the BJP and want to strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is coming to power for the third consecutive term. Pointing out that Modi had predicted that the BJP would win 370 seats in the coming Lok Sabha and the NDA would cross 400, Chandrasekhar claimed that many of these new seats would come from Tamil Nadu.
