The increase in Covid-19 cases is still a negative sentiment for the JCI. The JCI correction occurred in the midst of bright Asian market movements and the green opening of European markets today.

The strengthening was triggered by comments from the boss of the US central bank (Federal Reserve / The Fed) Jerome Powell in front of Congress who stated that inflationary pressures in the Superpower were temporary.

Investors are now turning their eyes to the US unemployment benefit claims data to see how far the economic recovery is going.

The Fed will also release a pressure test (stress test) later in the evening, the results of which will show how far the banking sector has survived amid the economic pressures caused by the pandemic.

In the UK, investors are watching the announcement of the benchmark interest rate by the British central bank (Bank of England / BoE). The central bank of Queen Elizabeth II is expected to keep its benchmark interest rate at a low level and maintain its asset purchase program in the market.
