[천지일보=정다준 기자] Ford, an American automaker, rebelled against the opinion of the US International Trade Commission (ITC), which pointed out its fault in relation to the dispute between LG Energy Solutions and SK Innovation’s electric vehicle battery.
Ford refuted, “It is not true,” to the ITC accusation that it signed a contract even though it was aware of the infringement of SK Innovation’s trade secrets.
According to the Associated Press, Ford said in a statement on the 5th (local time), “Contrary to ITC’s estimates, Ford has devoted itself to three additional battery programs related to SK Innovation even before it was revealed.” If it had been done, key facts would have been revealed.
Ford said, “We do not tolerate actions that SK is accused of, particularly those that abuse trade secrets and destroy evidence in the course of an investigation.”
ITC pointed out the problem that Ford, which is supplied with batteries from SK, continued its relationship with SK despite being aware of the infringement of SK’s trade secrets.
Prior to that, on the 10th of last month, in a lawsuit filed by LG Energy Solutions against SK Innovation to ITC, ITC raised the hand of LG and issued an order to ban imports of some of SK Innovation’s lithium-ion batteries for 10 years. In addition, it lowered the grace period for import bans for Ford for four years and for Volkswagen for two years.
