Airbnb puts a quarter of staff on the street Financial

In an internal email to staff, CEO Brian Chesky emphasizes that the housing rental platform is currently going through the worst crisis in its existence and that intervention is necessary.

Chesky assumes that the world of travel will look very different once the virus outbreak is over. “That’s why we need to make more fundamental changes to Airbnb by reducing the size of our workforce.” Airbnb is also putting several plans in the field of transportation on hold, and the company is going to cut its investments in hotels and luxury travel. The company would actually go public in New York this year. It has already become clear earlier that this ambition has been postponed.
