“When a hall was built in Liepaja, I was advised to try not only to play hockey, but also to judge it. I liked it, and so I started judging hockey games. Originally, they were children, and over time I started judging older children and young people who had both speed and technique – JAHL and the first league, in principle, all but the Optibet hockey league. I’ve won IIHF A license and also judged women’s championships, “said the judge herself.
“A woman in sports – many people see it with a grin on her face. I would like to thank the federation management and the people who have given me this opportunity. Of course, it has not already been said that I will succeed, but I am happy with the opportunity, because I like to play hockey games, ”explained Chaman. “If the teams and their management see that I, as a referee, have both an understanding of the game and the ability to make the right decisions, then everything will be fine. Being the first women’s referee in the Optibet hockey league creates twice as much responsibility as in other leagues or games. The “Amber puck” tournament took place in Liepaja all August, and now there were also professional level competitions, in which OHL players also took part, and I have already tried how to judge hockey of that level. “
