Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s resignation is being demanded at a protest rally

Citizens will be left without a special pension in the event of an act that harms state interests and national security. The decision will be made by a special commission.

A decree came into force in Belarus, according to which a citizen can be deprived of a pension assigned for special merit. The document was published on the national legal portal Friday, September 3rd.

“In cases where a citizen receiving a special merit pension commits
a crime, an act harmful to state interests, national
security … the payment of pensions for special merit is terminated, “the document says.

The resolution also notes that the increase in the pension associated with awarding a citizen with an order or medal can now be canceled – in case of deprivation of the award.

A special commission will make decisions on the withdrawal of payments. In her competence, both the cancellation of the pension, and the reduction at the discretion of the members of the commission.
