The coronavirus outbreak at the meat company Tönnies continues to have an effect: The ban on accommodation in some federal states for citizens from the Gütersloh district is now being followed by a ban on entry into Austria. Only a negative coronavirus test that cannot be older than 48 hours can suspend it.
Until further notice, citizens from the Gütersloh district of North Rhine-Westphalia are only allowed to enter Austria with a negative corona virus test. The Austrian Minister of Health Rudolf Anschober announced on ORF television. The test should not be older than 48 hours.
On the other hand, according to the Austrian government, citizens from the Warendorf district bordering Gütersloh do not need a negative corona test for entry, since the number of infections has developed significantly better there.
At the same time, Austria lifted its general travel warning for North Rhine-Westphalia with effect at midnight, as the Minister responsible for tourism, Elisabeth Köstinger, said on the Internet broadcast “Bild live”. According to her, the warning only applies to the Gütersloh district.
Due to the massive outbreak of corona virus among employees of the meat company Tönnies, tightening corona requirements have again applied to the approximately 640,000 people in the Gütersloh and Warendorf districts since Wednesday. Recently, the number of positive tests among people who have nothing to do with tonnies increased in the Gütersloh district.
Between June 20 and 27, 107 people were tested positive for the novel pathogen, who are not related to the meat company, as the circle said on Sunday evening. The majority of these people are reported to have no symptoms. The increase in the number of cases of infection reported is probably due to the strong expansion of the tests.
