For Chartres, it will be Lyon or Cergy in the round of 16 of the play-offs

After the defeat against Angers (78-83) on Friday, Chartres is getting closer and closer to the “bubble”, the zero point in this second phase. He has one match left, late, with the reception of Poitiers on Monday (6 p.m.). A meeting which will determine the rank of the CCBM (7th or 9th) while Poitiers, whatever the result, will finish 2nd and have the advantage of the field until the final.

Chartres, a 9th defeat against Angers

A hellish picture if successful

For Chartres, do we have to do everything to win this last match which would take him up to 7th place – the CCBM has the favorable point-average over Caen and Mulhouse?

Sacred dilemma because, if the Chartrains managed to save their honor, it would place them in a hellish picture with Le Havre, Caen, Lorient and an 8th final against Cergy. The formation of Val-d’Oise, 2nd in the intermediate group, does not have quite the same dynamic as the CCBM. The Ile-de-France have won six of their ten matches in the second phase.

On the other hand, a tenth defeat would send the CBBM to the top of the table with an 8th final against Lyon, which won only one match during the second phase, and it would face Poitiers (4 defeats in upper hen) in quarterfinal…
