Concerts may still continue, but the public must wear a mouth mask. That was decided by the Consultative Committee this week. Apparently many music lovers don’t like that and sell their tickets via the TicketSwap website. If you do not find the mouth mask an obstacle, you can enjoy Bazart in the Lotto Arena for 10 euros or go to Niels Destadsbader for 20 euros.

Prize battle in the Lotto Arena and in the Sportpaleis. Tonight and tomorrow, Bazart will be on stage at the Lotto Arena for two highly anticipated concerts. Ticket sales ran like a train until the Consultation Committee announced this week that performances will continue with a mouth mask requirement. That is a bridge too far for many fans or they have become anxious because of the rising numbers and prefer to stay at home.
On the TicketSwap website, concertgoers are now selling their tickets en masse to other interested parties. They determine the price of their second-hand ticket themselves. According to the law of supply and demand, the tickets there become very cheap the more providers there are.
We put it to the test: For the performance of Bazart on Friday evening, 268 tickets are for sale on Friday afternoon, of which approximately 150 are standing. The cheapest tickets at that time cost 10.8 euros. Original price: 38.59 euros.
That is striking because tonight the mouth mask obligation is not yet in place, so that concert can still go on without it. The question is whether visitors know that the mouth mask is not yet mandatory today. Nearly 200 tickets are for sale on Ticketswap Friday afternoon for the performance on Saturday.
The band Bazart already made an appeal via Instagram to the doubters to still come to the performance. “Don’t hesitate, the roof will come off. That’s good for ventilation,” they joked.
A similar story can be heard for Niels Destadsbader’s performance. He will be in the Sportpaleis on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 November. For Friday and Sunday there are more than 200 tickets for sale, for Sunday even more than 400 via TicketSwap. And there are also bargains to be had for that Flemish singer. For a small 20 euros you are already asked. The original price for these concert tickets is between 31 and 50 euros.

Next Thursday and Friday the Belgian band Balthazar will perform in the Lotto Arena and those concerts are also popular on TicketSwap. There are still more than 150 tickets for sale on Thursday, more than 200 euros on Friday. The cheapest tickets are 10.8 where you would normally have paid 40.8.

Jan Van Esbroeck, CEO of the Sportpaleis, looks at the mouth mask obligation with mixed feelings. “It gets in the way of the experience. If you want to watch an opera or theater performance in peace, that’s not so bad. But if there is, say, a Foo Fighters concert where people like to roar along and play air guitar, a mask is something completely different. So it definitely depends on the genre. Although we now have fewer restrictions than last summer, that is true,” he said earlier this week.
