This summer, OL players should take part in the 3rd edition of the Women’s International Champions Cup, a friendly international tournament inaugurated in 2018 in the United States, which will take place this year in Portland, Oregon.
According to the Washington Post , OL should be one of the four teams competing alongside Spanish club FC Barcelona and two American clubs Portland Thorns and Houston Dash.
The event is scheduled to take place August 18-21 at Providence Park, where Portland Thorns players, led by Internationals Crystal Dunn, Becky Sauerbrunn and Lindsey Horan, are used to playing. For now, it is not known whether the meetings will take place with or without an audience.

OL won the tournament in the last edition in 2019
The players of Jean-Luc Vasseur should therefore return to this competition two years after their last participation, the 2020 edition not having been able to compete because of the health crisis. In August 2019, the Lyonnaises won the tournament in Cary, North Carolina, beating North Carolina Courage 1-0 in the final. And had been able to take their revenge after losing 1-0 in the final the previous year in Miami against these same players of North Carolina Courage (OL was then coached by Reynald Pedros).
If the Lyonnaises and Barcelona will be in the “pre-season” phase before the 2021-22 fiscal year, this will not be the case for the two American clubs which will have started their campaign in the league (NWSL) for four months.
