In these complicated times, the musical event delighted the majority of its neighbors. Tibert Pont, a former Servettian turned into DJ Kaiotib, had been in charge for a few days already, to offer fifteen minutes of music shortly after 9 p.m., in the wake of the applause of support for the medical profession. But the appointment was placed under the snuffer. As in Saint-Jean, some neighbors of this district of Petit-Saconnex, the Genêts, complained.
“At 9:02 p.m. unless I am mistaken, Thursday evening, I was visited by two police officers,” explains Tibert Pont. The “Cé que’in lainô” which traditionally opens the session had just ended. I had just started a dedication for a local resident, on request received from France by her friend, who cannot come to find her for the reasons that we know, when it rang. The police told me that they had received calls, that I had to stop. That I could take this as a warning. They were almost sorry. They told me that they had tried to make the complainants understand that it was only 15 minutes of music, under special circumstances. But it was not enough. So there you go, I had to stop. I am IDB: no balcony allowed! ”
Of course, Tibert is not a maverick. He also understands that some families, with a young child already in bed, may feel disturbed. “But I still find it unfortunate, because it only lasts a few minutes, until 9:15 p.m.,” he said. I have the impression that a small minority who do not like this moment, yet a surge of solidarity in special circumstances, ruins a happy meeting awaited by the majority of my neighbors. As proof, dozens of messages I have received in the past few days, when it all started. But it’s like that.”
End clap for Kaiotib? Not necessarily. “The police advised me to try it earlier in the day,” he says. So I’m going to give it a try on Monday. At 19 ‘o clock. Hopefully it doesn’t bother those who complained and called the police. ”
