The young boy, called “Max”, died in a drowning accident. That confirms the club on its sites. Max was part of the youth academy, and represented the U16 team.
– We are characterized by a powerlessness and can not believe the dramatic message we received last week. Max was a social and popular boy, who was good both on and off the field. This is absolutely terrible, unimaginable and has hit us all hard, says club manager Mohammed Hamdi.
It is with great sadness and deep dismay that we have heard of the sudden death of our youth player Max Wang, at the age of only 15 years.

He further says that the sympathy is with the family, and that ADO Den Haag will do everything in its power to provide the best possible support in the situation.
According to The Telegraph the fatal accident happened two weeks ago. It must have happened when he visited a beach in the north of the Netherlands with some friends.
All three were caught in strong currents, but two were rescued. Wang disappeared in the waves.
The young boy moved to the Netherlands with his parents in 2015.
