Freiburg (dpa/lsw) – After reaching the DFB Cup final for the first time, SC Freiburg will continue in the Bundesliga with a home game against Borussia Mönchengladbach. On Saturday (3.30 p.m. / Sky) the people of Breisgau are aiming for the next step towards qualifying for the European Cup. Central defender Nico Schlotterbeck recently calculated that Freiburg would have to win five of their remaining five competitive games in order to win the DFB Cup and move into the Champions League.
The good omen: The Breisgauer have not lost against Gladbach at home since 2002 and the first leg at Borussia also went 6-0 to the Sport-Club. In terms of personnel, coach Christian Streich can draw on almost unlimited resources. Only Yannik Keitel and Kevin Schade are injured.
