Football – Freiburg im Breisgau – After corona infection: return to training in Freiburg – Sport

Freiburg (dpa) – Coach Christian Streich is back on the pitch at SC Freiburg after surviving the corona infection. The 57-year-old led the Bundesliga football team’s final training session on Wednesday before heading to the Europa League group match against FC Nantes (Thursday, 18:45 / RTL +). Streich missed the first leg against the French Cup winners last Thursday (2-0) and the league match at Hertha BSC (2-2) on Sunday due to infection.

Streich assistants Lars Voßler and Florian Bruns, also coronavirus positive, returned to the pitch during training on Wednesday. The only assistant manager who, according to the club, is currently absent is Patrick Baier.

Freiburg have won all of their first three Europa League Group G matches. In Nantes they can already make it clear that they will enter the knockout stage.
