Ligue des Champions – Atlético
While Atlético de Madrid plays its Champions League quarter-final against RB Leipzig on Thursday (9 p.m.), Diego Simeone looked back on the last months during which it was sometimes difficult to find motivation, before returning football.
At a press conference, Diego Simeone returned to the round of 16 of C1 between Atlético de Madrid against Liverpool (1-0, 3-2 ap), on confinement in Spain, and on the match that awaits his team on Thursday (9 p.m.), in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against RB Leipzig: “As a coach, it’s a dream to play such a great competition. Many months have passed since qualifying against Liverpool. All of those dreams and excitement have kinda vanished in the 120 odd days spent at home while in lockdown. And then La Liga took over, and now the Champions League. It was a great moment that will remain in the history of Atlético but now it’s a new story that begins. “
