Food: How did a frog get into a whole pepper? – News abroad

There he was. With bent legs squeezed into a whole pepper! We all know that spiders and beetles crawl happily on fruit and vegetables every now and then. But how does a live frog get into a pepper?

That’s the question the Canadian Food Inspection Agency is now addressing: The animal was discovered by the Canadian couple Nicole Gagnon and Gérard Blackburn at dinner on February 9th. The frog narrowly escaped Nicole’s knife when she cut the green vegetables and then found out that it was more or less a “filled” pepper.

▶ ︎ “I don’t know how the frog got into the peppers,” she said to Radio Canada. And her husband added: “You couldn’t see it. A pepper is closed. You can’t see if there is a frog in it or not. “

As it turned out, the little hop, a green tree frog by the way, came from Honduras, from where the peppers were exported to Canada. He survived everything: the transport and the knife during dinner. However, the Canadian authority killed him for further investigation. No final result has been published yet.
