During 2020, 28 thousand 148 financing was authorized in San Luis Potosí, through the National Fund for the Consumption of Workers (FONACOT), of which 60 percent were allocated to Cash Credit and 40 percent to Credit Women Cash.
The above was reported by the state director of Fonacot, Jesús Christopher Tovar Gutiérrez, who pointed out that with the approval of these credits, the total amount amounts to 545 million pesos.
He explained that, traditionally in the month of December is when the largest request for loans is registered, as workers seek to access loans to make their Christmas purchases; In that sense, he said that in December 2020 there was a 15 percent increase in applications, compared to the same period in 2019.
He also recalled that all the credits granted by Fonacot are in cash, and that the payment terms range from 6, 12, 18, 24 and 30 months, with annual interest rates from 8.9 percent.
In addition, he stressed that with the drop in interest rates that occurred since October last year, workers can access a loan of up to 4 months of their salary, with a monthly discount ceiling via payroll that does not exceed 20 percent of their salary, in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Labor Law.
