FOK.nl / News / Kane is back in Command & Conquer: Remastered Collection

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Command & Conquer has Electronic Arts Command & Conquer Remastered Collection released on PC via Origin and Steam, and as part of an Origin Access Premier subscription.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection was developed by EA and some members of the original Westwood Studios team at Petroglyph. The bundle consists of Command & Conquer: Tiberian Dawn, Command & Conquer: Red Alert and the three expansion packs: Covert Ops, Counterstrike and The Aftermath. The real-time strategy games now have native 4K support, updated multiplayer, an improved UI, a Frank Klepacki remastered soundtrack, modding support, and much more.

The game was built for the community from day one, and since early pre-production, a Community Council has been in contact with EA and Petroglyph teams 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide feedback during development. This feedback has shaped features such as a revamped UI, updated controls, a Map Editor and a modernized online multiplayer experience, with custom games, 1v1 quick match, Elo matchmaking, leaderboards, replays and much more.

Our top priority in developing the Remastered Collection was to make Command & Conquer feel the heart from the moment you start the game“said Jim Vessella, Lead Producer at EA.”We’ve worked hand-in-hand with Petroglyph’s Westwood veterans to ensure the iconic gameplay remains authentic, while adding key features for a modern gaming experience. We can’t be thankful enough for supporting the C&C community on this journey, and especially the feedback from the Community Council has been crucial in bringing this love letter to life.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection includes updated graphics and textures from Lemon Sky Studios with native 4K support. Frank Klepacki, the composer of the original C&C titles, remastered seven hours of music for the project, including over 20 tracks re-recorded with The Tiberian Sons. In addition, the source code is open source under the GPL. Earlier this week, TiberianDawn.dll, RedAlert.dll and the corresponding source code were released under GPL license version 3.0 so that the modders in the community can go wild.

Command & Conquer Remastered Collection is available on Steam and Origin for $ 19.99.
