Flower craving: a family of golden florists

Well known to flower and plant lovers in Mulhouse, the Envie de fleurs store now has two Best apprentice florists in France: after her sister Perrine, in 2014, Roxane Hinderer has just won her gold medal in the national events.

At this rate, we will soon have to push the walls of the Porte de Bâle boutique! The gold medal and the Best Apprentice of France certificate won by Roxane Hinderer at the end of November in Angers will soon join the rewards of other members of the Hinderer family on the walls of the family store. Alsace Florists’ Cup, Olympics of trades or even the title of Best apprentice in France, won in 2014 by Perrine Hinderer … At Envie de fleurs, passion and excellence of know-how combine with the warm atmosphere of a shop where the whole family gets their hands dirty: in addition to Roxane and Perrine, parents Hinderer, Catherine and Gervais have also worked there since the store took over in 2003.

Technique and creativity

“Obviously, we talk a lot about flowers in the family, laughs Roxane, 18 years old. But we are a very good team! Since I was little, I have come to the store and I bathe in this universe. Before working here, I first wanted to try something else, I did a carpentry CAP for a year but I lacked contact with customers and creativity. So I finally changed lanes and I’m currently in 2e year of CAP florist at Roosevelt. “

Like her sister Perrine before her, Roxane also decided to take the competition “One of the best apprentices in France” and was able to benefit from the advice of her sister who helped her with her training. “You learn a lot during competitions,” explains Perrine Hinderer. We work on our creativity, we discover new techniques to stay up to date, it also allows us to open up to others … “

After the departmental and regional tests, last March, it was in Angers that Roxane Hinderer competed in the national competition “One of the best apprentices in France”. On the program: a succession of tests putting the candidates’ technique and creativity to the test, in all aspects of the florist profession. “The first test was a free subject around the creation of a Christmas tree like no other, to decorate a window. I was inspired by the tradition, when Christmas trees were suspended from the ceiling, to make a tree upside down, with a lot of decorations. “

Then, the realization of a terrarium, a stick of Saint-Nicolas in bamboo stems and flowers, a centerpiece for Christmas or an imposing bouquet with 130 stems of various plants (rose, carnation, alstroemeria, germini…) enabled Roxane to win one of the seven gold medals awarded during the competition.

” The succession is assured ”

“We are very proud,” greets Gervais Hinderer, the father of the two girls. This medal rewards hours of work and training and shows Roxane’s know-how. Perrine has already achieved a great career and her sister is also showing what she is capable of. They are motivated and passionate young girls, who work well, the succession is assured! “

Back in the Mulhouse store, Roxane is not idle during this holiday season, between the creation of Advent wreaths and Christmas bouquets, the preparation and sale of traditional Christmas plants such as poinsettias and hellebores, or again the sale of decorations and essential Christmas trees. “We also responded to the request of a patron, wishing to remain anonymous, who financed the decoration of the facades of restaurants and cafes in Mulhouse, which cannot open for the moment. In one week, we installed around thirty decorated trees, garlands, decorations on the facades. It was a great challenge for a great gesture! “

In this very special year, the Hinderer family who, like all traders, suffered from restrictions related to the health situation, also took advantage of the first confinement to create their online store: https://enviedefleurs.alsace/.
