This Saturday, Mall Florida Center reported that it will reopen its doors starting this Monday, August 31, the day on which the commune of La Florida will enter the transition stage.
As indicated Cencosud through a statement, the opening will be partial and gradual, with opening hours from 10:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday during the transition phase.
In this way, non-essential stores will join other stores that were already operating to date such as Jumbo, Easy and pharmacies. However, they must prove that they have “only with resident personnel in communes phase 2 or higher (without quarantine), an aspect that will be heavily controlled by the shopping mall and authorities ”.
Furthermore, it was noted that “lThe operation of gastronomic establishments will be postponed for a week after the opening of the shopping center and only for delivery alternatives ”.

In this regard, the mayor of La Florida, Rodolfo Carter, agreed with the measure and pointed out that, after talking with executives of the Cencosud group, they decided “to reduce the maximum amount to 3,500, because we believe that the first two weeks will be of education for the people.”

The communal chief indicated that the shopping center “has had exemplary behaviors, as in other moments we have criticized it, at this moment we have to recognize that they have been deeply responsible and supportive”.
He also confirmed that, both inside the mall and outside, there will be health personnel providing masks, alcohol gel and “educating people in this challenge that is tremendous.”
“Floridians on Monday are on trial, not the mayor. If it is going to happen to us like Concepción, who went out of control and after two weeks we have to lock ourselves up, we cannot pretend that we have failed ”, he added.
