Florida will impose quarantine for coronavirus on passengers returning from countries with high rates of infection

The health authorities of the state of Florida reported Monday that people returning from certain countries that are considered “at risk” because of the coronavirus They will have to remain isolated for 14 days from their arrival.

The measure is mandatory and will take effect immediately for all those people traveling to the state from China, Italy, Iran and South Korea, countries that are considered at level 3 alert.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that it is important to stay isolated if you return to the United States from any of the aforementioned countries and, in case of any symptoms, communicate urgently with The health department.

“Social distancing includes avoiding being in public and close personal interactions. If you become symptomatic, immediately isolate yourself and contact your county health department or health care provider,” the country’s health authorities warned.

People returning from a cruise are recommended to monitor their health for symptoms and limit their social interactions during the first two weeks after arriving in the country.

The same is recommended for anyone returning from other countries where there are several cases of coronavirus infection, to prevent the disease from spreading.

This weekend, the death of two people in Florida was reported because of COVID-19. Last Monday, Florida declared a health emergency and, shortly thereafter, the Ultra Festival and the Eight Street Carnival were canceled in Miami, to avoid the crowds that favor the rapid spread.

This Monday, the state of emergency was declared in Florida, which will allow authorities to buy more medical supplies and hire out-of-state medical personnel to combat the spread of the virus and treat infected people.
