Florida public health emergency declared by coronavirus | Univision 23 Miami WLTV

The executive order signed this Sunday night, by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, says that “it is necessary and appropriate to take measures so that Covid-19 remains controlled.”

To handle the emergency, he appointed surgeon general Scott Rivkees, in charge of the state health department, who must also decide the duration of the emergency.

In addition, the Florida Department of Health will coordinate, together with state agencies and local governments, emergency response activities, to the impact that the coronavirus may have.

This Monday Ron DeSantis will be in Miami, in the Miami-Dade County Health Department, together with Deputy Governor Jeanette Nuñez, Commissioner of Education Department Richard Corcoran, General Surgeon Scott Rivkees and Deputy Secretary of Health Dr. Shamarial Roberson

According to the authorities, one is a resident of Hillsborough County and the other is Manatee County, who would have shown a positive test and are in quarantine.
