Fleetwood Mac musician Christine McVie dies aged 79 | Music

Fleetwood Mac musician Christine McVie died on Wednesday at the age of 79. Her family announced it on Twitter.

McVie passed away after a short illness in hospital, surrounded by her family.

The singer and songwriter is best known for her time with the band Fleetwood Mac. She left the group in 1998 after 28 years and returned in 2014.

McVie wrote songs like Stbird, Do not stop in Make love fun. He made a fundamental contribution to this Voices (1976), Fleetwood Mac’s most famous and successful album.

The record was made when relations within the band were at their limit. As well as the one between Christine and bassist John McVie, with whom she had been married since 1970. In the year in which Voices came out, Christine and John separated. However, Christine has decided to keep her surname.

The singer was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. He has also won two Grammy Awards and received a Brit Award for his outstanding contribution to the music world.

Fleetwood Mac reacts sadly to McVie’s death. “There are no words to describe our pain. She was unique and incredibly talented. She was the best musician a band could ask for. We were very lucky to have worked with her.”
