Influencers FitnessOskar and Healthy Mandy share their journey with their beloved son Rio, who died at just four months of a rare autoimmune disease, on Instagram.
The two fitness and food influencers FitnessOskar and Healthy Mandy announce sad news on Instagram: their four-month-old son has passed away.
Oskar and Mandy have not given up hope
Your heart breaks when you look at the past posts of the two influencers. Over the past few months, both have taken their followers on a journey to son Rio, which has been accompanied by ups and downs. The little one suffered from IPEX syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease that ends fatally in most cases. Of course, Oskar and Mandy still had high hopes that their Rio could make it through with the help of a stem cell donation. The two regularly updated their fans, posted photos from the hospital, and seemed extremely optimistic.
Terrible loss of your son
But on Friday (Dec. 9) they shared, “Rio was a fighter from day one. We’re sorry you couldn’t even hold Rio. Rio was a special kid, but we have to tell you Rio sadly lost the fight. L The autopsy is still pending, because no one here can explain what happened. Rio will always be there and watch over each of us from up there! We are lying right next to him as the equipment will be turned off immediately. Then Rio will be a little angel .” Also, Oskar and Mandy posted a photo of their parents holding their little darling’s hand.
Another post shows Oskar and Mandy laughing heartily with their son in their arms. They wrote: “May we introduce you to the greatest fighter of all time. Rio was born on 19/07/2022 at 11:44pm – we were in hospital for 143 days. On 09/12/2022 at 7:14pm his the little heart stopped beating RIP Thanks to everyone who believed in Rio and thanks to everyone who is helping us through this even remotely.”

The desperation they both feel is also evident in the Instagram stories: “Everything should turn out very differently. We both only wanted to be home again when there was Rio,” writes Oskar. This is followed by a video in which Oskar and Mandy cry bitterly and share their shock.
