Fisker went straight to the Navy firing zone: – Well, you just have to shoot

It was 11.34 and three warships, two corvettes and a frigate were preparing for Andfjorden, the strait that separates Andøya in Nordland and Senja in Troms. Then such a small uninvited guest appeared.

The Norwegian Defense Force was forced to increase preparation following the war in Ukraine, and after the sabotage in the Baltic Sea it became all the more relevant for the Norwegian Navy to carry out the necessary exercises.

As part of the currently ongoing exercise Flotex 22, a missile will be fired from the minesweeper KNM Måløy, with a cannon from the frigate KNM Fridtjof Nansen and the corvette KNM Storm.

This was a fisherman who hadn’t caught on, and blissfully unaware that the Navy’s main weapon was aimed directly at him, he sailed right into Defense’s firing zone.

Was television 2 who first mentioned the matter.

“This is KNM Storm. You are now in the middle of a shooting exercise.

Presumably, the Norwegian Navy received only inside line chatter in response. Either the fisherman aboard the dinghy took it with overwhelming calm, or he had no idea who had jumped into the water nearby.

“We need to move further south. Not very cooperative there. Now he’s casting a net… just ignore us completely.

Suddenly there was an answer from the fisherman.

“Yes. You just have to shoot. I’m going east. Then I’m probably off track.”

Here’s how it ended. Crews aboard the warships had to wait patiently as the barge slowly but surely passed, right through the drill’s safe zone, with the Navy’s primary weapon pointed straight at them.

As soon as the little red and white shark has finished its sailing journey, the starting shot could literally go off and the KNM Fridtjof Nansen could press the big button.

Flotex is an annual exercise and its purpose is to ensure the necessary proficiency and train the crew for warfare in Norwegian waters.

However, this year’s exercise is slightly different, as parts of the exercise have been added to the Norwegian continental shelf.
