The Italian winter sports association FISI reacted to the 3 Corona cases in the national team and ended the training camp on the Stelvio Pass.

A total of 3 people (2 trainers and an athlete) tested positive for the corona virus at the weekend. That is why the Hotel Livrio, in which the national team was quartered, was briefly cordoned off and everyone involved tested on Corona. The last tests were carried out on Monday.

“After the tests carried out today, the training camp on Stelvio will end,” the association wrote in a press release. “This is a mere precautionary measure that the association has taken to ensure the safety of the athletes and coaches.” At the same time, the FISI also emphasizes that none of the participants showed symptoms.

The training camp on the Stelvio Pass was already on the home stretch: In the next few days, the observation group, the women’s European Cup group and the juniors should have completed a few training sessions. The World Cup group around Sofia Goggia, Nicol Delago & Co. would originally have stayed on the Stelvio Pass until Tuesday.
