Good news in the Corona crisis came from the Innsbruck clinic on Thursday. The tirol clinics announced that the first patient to be treated in an intensive care unit in Tyrol because of a confirmed Covid 19 disease could be transferred back to the normal ward.

The 43-year-old, who comes from the St. Anton area, had to be ventilated and monitored since March 11. He was already able to be removed from ventilation on Tuesday, then moved to the normal ward on Wednesday.

“We need experiences like this”

“We need experiences like this as a nursing team,” said the deputy nursing director of the ward, Andreas Spielmann. “We are very pleased that our first corona patient has been transferred to the normal ward. It is a nice confirmation of our daily efforts.” The 43-year-old now had to spend some time in the normal ward. A final discharge date from the clinic has not yet been set.
