The iPhone charging cables have a history of getting damaged at some point and you need to replace them. For the iPhone 12, it looks like they will come with a woven charging cable.
This new woven charging cable would come with the new iPhone 12 models. It is a Lightning to USB-C cable. This was actually already leaked in July, but now there are a number of new photos of the cable that you will receive in your box with your new smartphone.
iPhone 12 gets woven cable
While there is a good chance that the iPhone 12 lacks a charging pad, since most consumers already have such a thing at home, a woven cable wouldn’t be a bad idea. In general, these types of cables last longer and are slightly less likely to become completely tangled when used in a container with other chargers. Because the average Lightning cable now lasts a few months, after which some damage occurs. And with that you run the risk of damaging yourself and your smartphone.

In addition to the expectation that this woven cable will last longer, this Lightning to USB-C can also ensure that your iPhone is charged a lot faster. Reportedly, you could provide half of your iPhone 12 with power within half an hour. Then you just have to have a charging block with USB-C, so you may incur some extra costs.
Not for the first time
For the iPhone and iPad it would be the first time that a woven cable is supplied. But it is not the first time that Apple has released a similar cable. There is already a woven Thunderbolt Pro cable, a black woven USB-C to Lightning cable that comes with the Mac Pro, and a woven power cable for the Homepod.
