The Hotel Public in New York’s Lower Manhattan is the first in the city to require proof of full vaccination coverage from its guests. The new regulation is to be implemented from September 5, 2021 and applies to all guests aged 12 and over.

The measure comes into force primarily because of the rapid advancement of the Delta variant and applies to all areas of the hotel, including the bars and restaurants. Hotelier Ian Schrager sees himself as a pioneer in the fight against the virus: “We have to defeat Covid-19 together. We just haven’t seen how we can live up to that responsibility without taking action.” (TI)
