First generation iPad mini soon to be obsolete

Starting July 31, Apple will add new references to the list of obsolete products, and not least since it is 1st generation iPad mini (Wi-Fi and cellular versions)!

The small tablet launched in 2012 has changed very little from a design point of view. It is just barely refined over time: 7.1 mm in 2012, 6.1 mm today. For the rest, the device has retained its large borders and its home button (without Touch ID) … Perhaps things will evolve more frankly with this hypothetical new model equipped with a screen of 8.5 or 9 inch.

Despite this entry in the list of obsolete products in which are found devices whose marketing stopped more than 7 years ago, the iPad mini 1st generation benefits from the “repair of old Apple products” program. It extends the duration of after-sales service, subject to the availability of parts in stock. This model does not go beyond iOS 9.3.6. Among the other devices that will be part of the club at the end of the month, Apple will also slide the 21.5-inch iMac (end of 2011).
