This year, SNAP will have a 3% increase due to the Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). With this additional value, payments greater than $291.00 USD are expected.
This federal contribution is executed every month through electronic benefit transfer (EBT) cards. The remuneration schedule is different in all states of the country.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) also gives money to retired workers. With the COLA increase to 3.2%, retirees will be able to collect up to $1,885.00 USD this year. The SSA distributes the dollars every month and this remuneration is established according to the birth of the users.
States that will issue direct payments
Some states of the nation reached excess finances in their funds and due to this situation they had to make tax refunds. Taxpayers who declared their tax obligations in the given period are entitled to these dollars.
The state of Arizona distributes $250.00 USD to families who have a child under 17 years old. Household members who are over that age and are reflected as dependents on the 2021 tax returns can receive $100.00 USD. Colorado implements the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR) and residents who complied with the tax will earn a maximum amount of $1,694.00 USD.
The population that declared the 2021 Personal Income Tax (PIT) in New Mexico can collect up to $1,000.00 USD.
But this payment will be made if the beneficiaries appear as dependents of other taxpayers. Several states such as California, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, Oregon and Utah will raise their Child Tax Credits (CTC) in 2024.
