Local health authorities confirmed on Tuesday the first case of coronavirus (Covid-19) in Colima.

Through a statement, José Ignacio Peralta Sánchez, Governor of Colima, explained that the patient began presenting symptoms on the morning of March 14, so the corresponding tests were applied, resulting in confirmation of the disease.
The president indicated that the case was endorsed by the head of the state Health Secretariat, Leticia Delgado Carrillo and by the epidemiologist, Rodolfo Flores García, also pointing out that the patient is stable and in home isolation along with two people who have not presented signs of contagion.
Faced with this situation, Peralta Sánchez called on the population to remain calm, highlighting the implementation of mitigation modules at the airports and truck plants of Manzanillo, Colima and Tecomán.
Finally, the head of the state Executive indicated that, in addition to these filters, the suspension of classes and massive events will be maintained, likewise, public offices will operate with a reduced number of personnel.
