The fire alert was given at 13:16 in a pasture and bush area in Monte dos Torneiros, in the União de Freguesias da Terrugem and Vila Boim, said the source of the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Portalegre.
“It is intense on two fronts,” said the source, ensuring that there are no homes at risk.
The fight against flames had, at 14:40, a total of 119 operatives, with the support of 31 vehicles and four aerial means.
In addition to an aerial means of coordination, the operations deploy a helicopter and two medium bombers.
