Fire Breaks Out in Lyon Company, Dozens Evacuated

Several dozen workers had to be evacuated from their company, this Thursday, May 11, 2023, near Lyon due to a fire. 55 firefighters are on the scene.

Shortly after 1 p.m., this Thursday, May 11, 2023, a large plume of black smoke is seen in the sky of Vénissieux, in the metropolis of Lyon. The firefighters confirm a fire within a company, at the level of the rue de l’Industrie.

At the origin of the disaster, “an oven”, we are quickly told from the Departmental Fire and Rescue Operational Center. “There are no casualties, 70 workers were evacuated“.

55 firefighters were engaged in the fight against the flames. And two spears in action. As of 2 p.m., the fire was not yet under control.
