Fire at Kochi Brahmapuram Waste Treatment Plant; Firefighters are sick

Kochi: 20 fire rescue personnel were injured while trying to put out the fire and smoke that broke out in the Brahmapuram waste treatment plant. A soldier who suffered from vomiting was admitted to the hospital. 23 fire units from Ernakulam, Idukki, Kottayam and Thrissur districts are trying to put out the Brahmapuram fire.

At the same time, people are advised to stay indoors as much as possible on Sunday due to problems with smoke. All hospitals have also been asked to be prepared to deal with health problems of the people including respiratory problems.
