A fire broke out on the ground floor of a juice factory and quickly spread through the building due to the presence of flammable substances.

The fire began on the afternoon of July 8 on the ground floor of Hashem Foods’ six-story factory in Rupganj, east of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.

The fire spread rapidly due to the presence of chemicals and flammable substances in the premises, such as polyethylene and ghee. In this regard, the fire quickly spread to other floors of the enterprise.

In an attempt to escape the fire, three workers jumped from the roof of the factory and died. In total, according to preliminary data, 52 employees of the enterprise were killed. At least 50 people were injured. Rescuers evacuated 25 people from the burning building.

As of midday on July 9, the fire at the factory has been localized. Now the relatives of the missing workers have gathered for a demonstration on the territory of the enterprise.

Recall that initially it was reported about three people killed in the fire, but later it became known that the number of victims exceeded fifty… The plant employed about 7-8 thousand people, so the number of victims of the fire may increase.
