Manchester City has been excluded from the Champions League for the next two seasons for violations of financial fair play. Coach Pep Guardiola’s club also has to pay a fine of 30 million euros, the European Football Union (Uefa) said on Friday.

Uefa’s investigations had started after the SPIEGEL Football Leaks revelations. Internal documents should show how City systematically violated the rules of financial fair play. Supposedly sponsor money from Abu Dhabi is said to have actually been paid by club owner Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
