‘Finally physical contact in B&B Full of Love’ | Columns & Opinion

“Since all direction in this popular RTL series is missing, the guests pack their bags one by one. Brabant Mark has packed his fun pants and voluntarily left the B&B in Austria. Owner Caroline didn’t even remotely see this coming, because she would have liked to have had the time to get to know the Mark ‘behind’ the jokes. What I especially did not see coming is that Romana was going to leave her pub buddy Bert.

Screeching tires

Romana probably no longer attracted competitor Gwen’s irritating giggles and Gwen’s striptease was the last straw. Romana should have put Gwen in her place and put on a shirt that reads ‘shut up’. But then of course in French, just like Gwen’s shirts are also printed with ‘funny’ French texts. Instead, B&B owner Bert was put off: “Gwen go home or I go home.” Unfortunately, Bert has a plate in front of his head and too high expectations of the ‘wow factor’, because he has let go of his chance at love.

On the morning of departure, Romana makes it clear – in her most beautiful dress! – not to go home, but to go to the south of France on spec. In short, nothing or no one is waiting for her at home. But unfortunately this hint is not understood by Bert either. Fortunately, before she drives out of the yard with screeching tires, she gets a goodbye hug. But that, in my view, is exactly where it seems to go wrong.

Dive into bed

Why are all the goodbye hugs the first touches between the candidates? How can love blossom without a careful or sneaky touch? I hereby call on more physical contact! Of course, the candidates don’t have to go to bed with each other right away, although after a few bottles of wine and overnight sleepovers, they could have done so. And not just to drink a cup of coffee on the edge of the bed the morning after. Grab each other’s hands once during a walk or put an arm around someone’s shoulder in the evening. Don’t they all crave physical contact?

During her French adventure, Romana clearly felt the need for a hug of ‘raw husk white pit’ Bert. Bet she and Bert wouldn’t have stood so stiffly and uncomfortably against each other during the outpouring? Middle of the street! (They never leave the B&B and now you have such a conversation in the middle of the street?!) And that’s probably why she showed more emotion when saying goodbye to the dog, after all she cuddled with it every day.

early feelings

Mark also mentioned during his departure in Austria that the goodbye hug was their first real hug. It almost looked like he regretted his choice. From now on his competitor Erik finally had the kingdom (and Caroline) to himself and yet it is still dog Roosje who is taken on your lap. I fervently hoped that Caroline would do things differently with the fourth candidate. A mountain hike together or mulled wine in front of a campfire, instead of being the perfect hostess with coffee. But unfortunately newcomer Jeroen is already scrubbing the bathroom on his first day, just like his predecessors. Caroline seems to find this most important in a man.

Ice queen Debbie takes the cake in Southern Italy. There, bachelor Pascal gets three kisses on the cheek after giving him a silver bracelet (did she really say she prefers gold?! Ungrateful!). And his competitor Jelmer is also treated to three formal kisses during a picnic date, after they have indicated that they both have no feeling for each other.

Then the ride on the motorbike with bachelor Mitch and B&B owner Roxanne – nice and close to each other – still works wonders. After a brisk ride, the two suddenly blushing tender feelings to each other. So in Roosendaal, something finally seems to blossom, in between painting and cooking. And that while I had almost forgotten that the program is really about love.

floaty

While it just keeps flowing in a friendly way at Vincent in Italy, newcomer Sophie brings in no time the irritation level up. This 33-year-old new guest has written in ‘joyful mood’ on Vincent’s proposal video. After a short walk in a deadly serious tone, she announces that she finds him way too serious. Then she asks someone who has moved alone to a ruin in Italy, when he was last out of his comfort zone. What about this whole story did you miss to ask that question? In any case, Mrs. herself clearly seems very comfortable with her job as a life coach. Maybe she can coach the renovation, because there is nothing more in it for Vincent. He thinks she’s too fluffy.

Where there is neither love nor friendship, is in Jacob’s B&B. Calm seems to have returned, after last week’s water damage escalation. During a joint yoga class on the tennis court, everything even seems like a piece of cake. Until Jacob arrives too late and takes his yoga cat with him. He then keeps calling candidate Monica Moniek and starts talking about his broken ribs again during class – in the most impossible position. Just a little while and it’s four against one again…”
