Square Enix recently dropped a small bomb and confirmed that with Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers, the company’s two main titles, will appear later than planned become. The delay is related to Final Fantasy VII remake quite manageable, but that still has other consequences.

Square Enix gives the development team of the much-anticipated new edition of the JRPG classic around five weeks more to complete. For PlayStation 4, the game will not be released on March 3, 2020 as originally planned, but only on April 10, 2020. As a consequence, players on other future platforms will also have to wait longer.

As is known, Final Fantasy VII Remake is initially available exclusively on PS4. To date, the exclusive time window has always been given until March 3, 2021, but the shift is now also affecting it. The deal strictly stipulates a one-year PlayStation exclusivity from the release, and thus Final Fantasy VII Remake can only be released for other platforms from April 10, 2021. The corresponding information on a sticker affixed to the PS4 packaging has now been updated accordingly.

This was to be expected, but for PC and possibly Xbox players, this is of course disappointing news. Official announcements of further implementations are still pending anyway.
