Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Shinra Tower: what if you took the fire escape? The easter egg returns – News

Final Fantasy 7 Remake aims to be a constant tribute to the original episode released on PlayStation. In order to be as close as possible to the 1997 work, he does not hesitate to reuse certain gimmicks period, including a certain ascent of an interminable staircase, still part 23 years later! We explain what it is about in our complete solution of Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

Climb 59 floors on foot? What for ?

Remember: in Final Fantasy VII, if the ascent of the Shinra Tower was clearly not one of the last obstacles of the game, since it did not even conclude the first CD of the game! The real difficulties started on the 60th floor of the huge tower of the powerful corporation controlling Midgar, and there were two ways to get there: the elevator and … the fire escape. It was indeed possible, although highly annoying, to climb the hundreds of steps separating the entrance hall from the 59th floor building! Even more boring: where Tifa and Barret did it while running, it was possible to do it by … walking, which literally took more than a quarter of an hour, video to support it:

A fire escape always present!

In the remake of 2020, this staircase is in the game, this time at the end of the game, in the Chapter 16 “Infiltration of the Shinra Tower” and is one of the possibilities to reach the 59th floor of the building, with a few subtleties to prevent Cloud from rushing headlong, reinforcing the realism and immersion of this strong sequence of the epic of Avalanche and its famous trio.

If it is still possible to do it in full by walking on PlayStation 4, which will take a little less time (ten minutes, no more), Cloud will automatically get breathless over the floors, starting to run at a short stride from the 10th floor and starting to walk normally, at a good pace anyway, arriving at the 35th. Even more fun, from the 51st, he will begin to progress really painfully, arriving exhausted on the 59th floor where Tifa awaits him who will always finish the ascent before his two companions (Barret slowing down terribly in the last 5 floors after having stupidly run during the previous ones):

Finally, be aware that this method has no interest in gameplay and does not earn any trophy, whether you run from the start or walk from start to finish. We hope you enjoyed watching this incredible video in its entirety as much as we enjoyed making it!
