Filmmaker Claire Denis directs new film with Juliette Binoche | NOW

Filmmaker Claire Denis is working on a new film about a French radio station starring Juliette Binoche and Vincent Lindon, reports Variety Thursday.

The project has the title radioscopy and will take place in Maison de la Radio, the headquarters of the French public broadcaster in Paris.

In a French radio interview, Denis (74) says that she has a soft spot for the special architecture of the building and for the medium of radio in general. “On the radio you hear silences, breathing and hesitation. Sometimes the answer to a question does not immediately come to mind and we have to search for it. On the radio we hear people thinking,” says Denis.

The French director previously worked with Binoche for High Life, the science fiction film that came out in 2018. In that film, a group of delinquents are sent to space, where they are subjected by Binoche to numerous scientific experiments.

Denis became known for the French-language film Chocolat from 1988, not to be confused with the 2000 film of the same name in which Juliette Binoche also played a leading role.
